Royal Baby on the Way

It seems royal congratulations are in order. Just yesterday Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their third child.

The royal couple are already proud parents to Prince George, 4, who will be starting school this week, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

A statement released by the palace said: “Their royal highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.”

The Queen and the other members of the royal family are said to be delighted by the news. The new baby will be fifth in line to the British throne and the Queen’s sixth great-grandchild.

In keeping with tradition Kate and Prince William named their first two children after former British monarchs.

Sources are already speculating about possible names for the latest royal addition. If the newborn is a girl, Alice and Victoria are said to be likely choices. If the baby is a boy, sources have betted on Arthur (Prince William’s second name) or Henry.
